Gutman Game Winning Goal Sends Five Stripes Past Seattle Sounders

In front of 68,586 fans at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on  Saturday afternoon, Andrew Gutman who recently returned from a quad injury netted an explosive second half stoppage time goal to tilt Atlanta United to a 2-1 win over Seattle Sounders.

In the 23rd minute Ronaldo Cisneros scored the first goal of the game, marking his team-leading seventh goal of the season.

In the 68th minute, Seattle tied the score when Cristian Roldan kicked the ball past Ríos Novo.

Subbing on in the final minutes of the match Gutman sent a left-footed, unforgettable game winning goal into the net for the five stripes.

“They have to believe they are the best version of themselves and I think this type of victory will help them be back to the best Araújo, Josef, Thiago, Marcelino, Alan Franco, Purata , Rocco.” said Pineda. “This type of victory for sure will help with that.”
