Glads outlast Solar Bears

After delivering a 3-1 victory over the Stingrays on Sunday the Gladiators returned to home ice bright and early to host the Orlando Solar Bears for the sixth and final meeting between the two clubs for some hot morning action on Education Day at Gas South Arena.

The Solar Bears Fabrizio Ricci scored the first goal of the morning, assisted by Jake Transit and Jackson Keane.

Midway in the second period, the Solar Bears scored their second goal by Jake Transit, assisted by Chris Harpur.

Late in the second period Glads Hugo Roy found the back of the net on a rebound opportunity assisted by Cody Sylvester. Seconds later, the Glads tied the game at 2-2 when Sanghoon Shin directed the puck past the Orlando goaltender off a shot from Greg Campbell. Roy and Shin’s goals were Atlanta’s fastest two tallies this season.

Nearing the close of the third period Kamerin Nault netted the game-winning goal to give Atlanta the 3-2 victory, earning their 23rd win at home.
