Monday night Georgia won their first college football title since 1980. The Bulldogs defeated Alabama, the reigning national champions in a 33-18 victory in Indianapolis breaking the ‘Bama curse.
The 40 year curse is no more. Take it in Dawg Fans.

The Dawgs scored the game’s final three touchdowns. With 54 seconds left in Monday night’s College Football Playoff National Championship, Georgia cornerback Kalee Ringo intercepted Alabama quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young and returned it 79 yards for a touchdown. Ringo’s pick was the longest pick in championship game history.
Stetson Bennett, the former walk-on turned starter, finished 17 for 26 for 224 yards and no interceptions.

It’s impossible not to acknowledge Smart was previously 0-4 when facing his mentor Saban as a head coach. Smart learned coaching under Saban.
In 2015, Smart was announced as the head football coach at his alma mater, the University of Georgia. Does overcoming No.1 Alabama make the win a little sweeter? Yes, being crowned a champion hits different for Smart.
Last night was the second time we’ve seen Alabama and Georgia play in the CFP National Championship. In 2017 the Bulldogs lost to Alabama 26-23.

After four decades Georgia is back on top. If you think they won’t be there for a while, allow me to tell you that they aren’t going anywhere.
