THE RETURN OF ANGEL MCCOUGHTRY BITTER SWEET

The Aces secured a 78-71 victory over the Dream and extended Atlanta’s 10-game losing streak on Thursday night.

Atlanta’s record against the Las Vegas/San Antonio franchise moves to 16-16 all-time.

Monique Billings recorded her second career 20-point game, finishing with 21 points, 6 rebounds, a steal and 4 blocks.

Can we talk about Angel McCoughtry?
The guard/forward who is in her second season with the Aces returned to Atlanta for the first time as a member of the Aces.

The five-time All-Star who spent a decade with the Dream still calls Atlanta home. McCoughtry who has done so much for the team and city of Atlanta, received a standing ovation from the Atlanta Dream fans.


After the game Atlanta Dream players gave McCoughtry hugs and handshakes.

“When Bill asked me did I want to play today, get in the game for a couple of seconds, I was ecstatic,” McCoughtry said There’s no word that’s going to describe the feeling. It was an amazing day. It’s good to be back home because I live here. I had a great time.”

Team owner Renee Montgomery embraced and exchanged pleasantries with McCoughtry. Montgomery also took a photo of Angel on the court.

Next Up: Atlanta looks to break their losing streak when the team head to Dallas to face the Wings on Sept. 2. Tip off is at 8:00.
