The Atlanta Dream announced the team has signed free agent forward Tianna Hawkins to a two-year contract.
Hawkins, a 6-3 forward who helped the Washington Mystics to a WNBA Championship in 2019, played a career-high 19.4 minutes per game in 2020, averaging 8.5 points and 3.5 rebounds per contest. She tallied eight double-figure scoring games, including a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds against Indiana on August 9.
“We are thrilled to welcome Tianna, her fiancé Jarrod, and her son Emanuel to the Dream family,” said head coach Nicki Collen. “Tianna brings a championship mentality from Washington and a desire to do whatever it takes for her team to win. She has shown her versatility as both a rim runner and three-point shooter, and will add depth to our front court.”
“I am so excited for this opportunity to join the Dream,” Hawkins said. “I look forward to competing every day with such a great group of people, bringing in good energy and being a great teammate. My focus is to be a positive asset to the organization and to also continue to grow as a basketball player.”
Per team policy, contract details were not released.
