Penalties, Frustrations, and Fights : Glads fall to Solar Bears

Losing a season high four straight games, the Glads was beaten 6-1 at Jacksonville on Friday after losing to the Florida Everblades 7-0 on Wednesday.

Tonight’s game against the Solar Bears marked the first of four straight home games.

Just :12 seconds into the game Thomas Frazee scored his first goal of the season.

An early first-period tally had the Glads ahead of the Solar Bears 1-0 after the opening frame.

At 1:32 into the second period Solar Bears Jimmy Lodges scored the team’s first goal and tied the score.

With 7:41 minutes into the 2nd period Glads Logan Nelson put Atlanta up by 1.

Solar Bears tied the score again after a 5-on-3 Power Play by Alex Lipanov.

Solar Bears scored again with a goal by Michael Brodzinski.

Orlando’s Rich Boyd scored another team Power Play goal to put the team up by 2. 

In the 3rd period is when the thrilling action happened on the ice.

At 7:06 Solar Bear Chris Leblanc scored a goal. Followed by Orlando’s Tristin Langen.

Out of frustration, tempers flared and every single Gladiators players was on the ice fighting.

To add even more frustration to the already defrosted Glads, the Solar Bears Dylan Fitze scored a shorthanded  breakaway.

With less than five minutes on the clock, Orlando’s Eddie Matsushima and Mikhail Shalagin assisted D Marcus Crawford for the eighth and final Solar Bear goal of the night.

The Gladiators will be on a Christmas break before returning to home ice  on Thursday, December 26th when the team host the South Carolina Stingrays on the third annual Wiener Dog Race.
