Georgia State battled the rain and the triple-option offense of Army to earn a
third-straight win last Saturday night. The Panthers extended their winning streak and their perfect (4-0) at home winning record this season on Saturday night at Georgia State Stadium.
Panthers Running Back Tra Barnett rushed for 242 yards and two touchdowns and broke GSU’s single-game, season and career rushing records to lead the Panthers to bowl eligibility with their fourth straight victory, 52-33 over Troy.
With 2,058 yards rushing on the season, the Panthers have already broken last year’s season record of 2,057 yards
“Let’s talk about the win. When you start out in this conference you got some heavy hitters you have to go play. You got the Arkansas States, the Troys you got teams like that,” head coach Shawn Elliott said. “If you want to be taken serious in a league you got to knock off the front runners and the guys have proven from time to time they stand at the top of the conference.”

The Panthers now (6-2) accumulated a school-record 390 yards rushing as a team, breaking the school record for the third time in four games.
Georgia State is off next week before going on the road to face ULM on Nov. 2
