Atlanta United will be well represented during the Sept. 21-Oct. 6 FIFA international window.
Seven Five Stripes players have received call-ups from their respective national teams, with Miguel Almirón, Júnior Alonso, Paulo Díaz, Breel Embolo, Alexey Miranchuk, Fafà Picault and Cooper Sanchez all set to join international camps.
Embolo and Sanchez will remain with Atlanta United through the club’s Sept. 26 match against New York City FC before departing for national team duty.
For Atlanta, the call-ups are another sign of the level of international experience currently spread throughout the roster.
Almirón and Alonso will join Paraguay for friendlies against Bolivia on Sept. 27 and Colombia on Oct. 2.
Both players helped Paraguay reach the Round of 16 at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Almirón has started 73 of his 80 appearances for Paraguay since making his debut in 2015, recording 10 goals and seven assists.
Alonso, meanwhile, has started 74 of his 76 appearances and has registered three goals and three assists since debuting in 2013.
Díaz will join Chile for friendlies against Canada on Sept. 26 and the United States on Sept. 29.
The defender has made 56 appearances for Chile, scoring one goal since his debut in 2015. His international résumé also includes 25 World Cup qualifying appearances and five matches in Copa América.
Embolo will link up with Switzerland for four Nations League group-stage matches during the window.
Switzerland will face North Macedonia on Sept. 26, Scotland on Sept. 29, Slovenia on Oct. 3 and North Macedonia again on Oct. 6.
The forward is coming off a strong 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he started all six matches for Switzerland and recorded two goals and two assists during the nation’s run to the quarterfinals.
Since making his senior international debut in 2015, Embolo has totaled 26 goals and 20 assists in 92 appearances.
Miranchuk will return to the Russia National Team for friendlies against Iran on Sept. 29, Namibia on Oct. 2 and Nigeria on Oct. 5.
He has recorded 11 goals and nine assists in 53 international appearances since making his debut in 2015.
Picault will represent Haiti during four Concacaf Nations League group-stage matches.
Haiti will face Trinidad and Tobago on Sept. 24, Costa Rica on Sept. 27, the Dominican Republic on Oct. 1 and Costa Rica again on Oct. 4.
Picault has recorded one goal and four assists in 16 appearances for Haiti since making his debut in 2023.
One of the youngest call-ups belongs to Sanchez, who has been named to the U.S. Under-20 Men’s National Team.
The midfielder will join the squad for friendlies against Brazil’s U-20 team on Oct. 1 and Denmark’s U-20 team on Oct. 4 in San Pedro del Pinatar, Spain.
Sanchez has made four appearances for the U.S. U-20s and previously represented the country at the U-18 and U-17 levels, including three appearances at the 2025 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
The latest international selections come as Atlanta United continues building momentum late in the season.
Having seven players called into national team camps is a strong reflection of the experience, quality and youth development represented across the Five Stripes roster.
