Dream Dominate Sky 106-81 as Reese Makes History in Home Finale

ATLANTA — The Atlanta Dream made sure their final regular-season home game at State Farm Arena ended with a statement.

Behind another historic performance from Angel Reese, a career night from Isobel Borlase and a balanced offensive attack, the Dream rolled past the Chicago Sky 106-81 Saturday night, improving to 28-14 with two regular-season games remaining.

Atlanta started Jordin Canada, Allisha Gray, Rhyne Howard, Naz Hillmon and Reese, with the starting five improving to an impressive 27-8 together this season. The victory also moved Atlanta’s all-time record against Chicago to 33-37 overall and 18-19 at home.

The Dream delivered one of their most efficient offensive performances of the season, shooting 52.9% from the field and 50% from three-point range. Atlanta scored 46 points in the paint and received 39 points from its bench.

But the Dream’s defense made history.

With 374 steals and counting, Atlanta set a new WNBA single-season team record, surpassing the previous mark held by the 2009 Indiana Fever. The Dream finished Saturday’s victory with 13 steals.

Reese also continued rewriting the WNBA record book. The Dream forward finished with 23 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, two steals and three blocks, recording her 31st double-double of the season and her 13th game with at least 20 points.

Reese also became the first player in WNBA history to record 500 rebounds in a single season, adding another historic accomplishment to her first season in Atlanta.

Borlase provided a major spark, scoring a career-high 18 points while adding three steals, one rebound and one assist.

Gray finished with 17 points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals, while Howard added 14 points, four assists, one rebound, one steal and one block.

Howard also reached another career milestone. With her fifth made field goal of the night, she reached 1,000 career field goals made.

Canada continued to control Atlanta’s offense, finishing with 11 points, 10 assists, two rebounds and two steals. It marked her 10th game this season with at least 10 assists.

Reese, Borlase, Gray, Howard and Canada all finished in double figures as Atlanta once again displayed the depth that has helped fuel its postseason run.

The victory put an exclamation point on the Dream’s regular-season home schedule, but Atlanta’s season at State Farm Arena is not necessarily over.

The Dream have already clinched a spot in the 2026 WNBA Playoffs, securing their fourth consecutive postseason appearance and 12th playoff berth in franchise history.

Now, the focus turns to playoff positioning.

At 28-14, Atlanta has two games remaining to strengthen its postseason seed and position itself for home-court advantage before the playoffs begin.

Both will come against a familiar Eastern Conference opponent.

Next up, the Dream travel to Barclays Center for back-to-back games against the New York Liberty. Atlanta faces New York on Monday, September 21 at 8 p.m. ET, before closing the 2026 regular season against the Liberty on Wednesday, September 23 at 8 p.m. ET.

The WNBA Playoffs begin September 27. Atlanta has already punched its ticket to the postseason.

After closing out its regular-season home schedule with 106 points, a WNBA team record and another piece of history from Reese, the Dream now have two games left to determine exactly where their playoff journey will begin.
