The Atlanta Dream stayed hot on the road, defeating the Los Angeles Sparks 78-71 to complete a 3-0 season sweep and extend their winning streak to four straight games.
Atlanta started Jordin Canada, Allisha Gray, Rhyne Howard, Naz Hillmon and Angel Reese, and that starting five improved to 25-8 this season.
The victory moved Atlanta’s all-time record against Los Angeles to 28-20 overall and 13-12 on the road.
Four Dream starters finished in double figures, and while Atlanta had several strong performances, the biggest story of the night belonged to Angel Reese.
Reese pulled down a career-high 26 rebounds, the most ever by a player in a single game in WNBA history.
The historic performance also pushed her season total to 452 rebounds, giving Reese the new WNBA single-season record for total rebounds and surpassing A’ja Wilson’s previous mark of 451 set in 2024.
Reese finished with 11 points, 26 rebounds, three assists and three steals, recording her 27th double-double of the season. She now sits just two double-doubles away from breaking the current WNBA single-season record.
Allisha Gray led Atlanta with 20 points, three rebounds and six assists, while adding another franchise milestone of her own.
With her 247th made field goal of the season, Gray set a new Atlanta Dream single-season franchise record for field goals made. It also marked her 19th game this season with at least 20 points.
Rhyne Howard added 18 points, six rebounds, three assists and one steal while reaching another major career milestone. Howard officially surpassed 3,000 career points, adding to what has already been an impressive start to her WNBA career.
Naz Hillmon finished with 12 points, seven rebounds and one block, while Jordin Canada contributed nine points, four rebounds, four assists and one steal.
Atlanta continued to attack inside, finishing with 48 points in the paint and doing enough down the stretch to hold off the Sparks.
With the 78-71 win, the Dream not only completed the season sweep of Los Angeles but also pushed their current winning streak to four games.
The Dream now have six games remaining in the regular season as the playoff race and seeding battle continue to tighten.
Atlanta will return home on Friday, August 28, to host the Portland Fire, followed by a matchup with the Minnesota Lynx on Sunday, August 30.
As the regular season winds down, Atlanta continues to build momentum at exactly the right time, with playoff positioning becoming more important with every game.
