COLLEGE PARK, Ga. — The Atlanta Dream continue to search for answers after falling 88-83 to the Golden State Valkyries on Saturday at Gateway Center Arena. The loss marks Atlanta’s fifth consecutive defeat as the team looks to regain the momentum it had earlier this season.
The Dream entered the fourth quarter within striking distance but couldn’t complete the comeback, dropping to 2-4 all-time against the Valkyries and 1-1 at home in the series.
Atlanta rolled out a new starting lineup of Jordin Canada, Allisha Gray, Rhyne Howard, Isobel Borlase, and Angel Reese. It was the first career WNBA start for Borlase, and the group finished 0-1 together.
Despite the loss, Atlanta’s stars continued to shine.
Allisha Gray led the Dream with 22 points, adding four rebounds, three assists and a steal. It marked her eighth 20-point game of the season as she continued her All-Star-caliber campaign.
Angel Reese recorded yet another double-double, finishing with 17 points and 13 rebounds, along with three assists and two steals. It was her 14th double-double of the season, extending her league lead while continuing to anchor Atlanta’s frontcourt.
Rhyne Howard added 19 points, five rebounds and three assists, once again providing a spark on both ends of the floor.
Rookie Madina Okot gave the Dream an efficient boost off the bench, scoring 11 points while shooting a perfect 4-for-4 from the field and 3-for-3 from the free-throw line.
Veteran point guard Jordin Canada finished with seven points, four rebounds, eight assists and two steals, recording her 18th game this season with at least five assists as she continued to orchestrate Atlanta’s offense.
Dream Trio Earns All-Star Honors
Before tipoff, Atlanta received some exciting news as Allisha Gray, Angel Reese and Rhyne Howard were named reserves for the 2026 AT&T WNBA All-Star Game.
Gray earned her fourth consecutive All-Star selection, all with the Dream. Reese became an All-Star for the third straight season and will make her first appearance representing Atlanta after joining the franchise this year. Howard was selected to her fourth All-Star Game in just five WNBA seasons, becoming just the 19th player in league history to accomplish that feat.
Gray is averaging 18.5 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.6 steals while scoring in double figures in 20 of Atlanta’s 21 games this season.
Reese has made an immediate impact in Atlanta, averaging 14.9 points and a league-leading 11.8 rebounds while leading the WNBA with 14 double-doubles.
Howard continues to establish herself as one of the league’s top two-way players, averaging 18.9 points, 3.8 rebounds and a league-best 3.2 steals per game, while ranking second in the WNBA in three-pointers made.
The three selections mark the fifth time in franchise history the Dream have placed three players on the WNBA All-Star team and the third time in the last four seasons, highlighting the talent on Atlanta’s roster despite its recent struggles.
The 2026 AT&T WNBA All-Star Game will be played Saturday, July 25, at the United Center in Chicago, airing on ABC at 8:30 p.m. ET.
