ATLANTA — As the 2026 FIFA World Cup enters the knockout stage, FIFA Fan Festival™ Atlanta continues to set the pace as one of the tournament’s most popular fan destinations.
Festival organizers announced that more than 388,000 fans have attended the FIFA Fan Festival™ Atlanta through the conclusion of the group stage, highlighting the city’s enthusiasm for hosting one of the world’s biggest sporting events.
Located at Centennial Olympic Park, the festival has become a gathering place for soccer supporters from around the globe, offering free live match broadcasts, entertainment, cultural performances, interactive activities, food vendors, and family-friendly experiences throughout the tournament.
The milestone comes as Atlanta prepares to host its first knockout-round match, with England taking on DR Congo at Atlanta Stadium on Wednesday. Thousands of additional visitors are expected to make their way downtown before and after the match, creating another electric atmosphere throughout the city.
With temperatures expected to climb on Wednesday , July 1, festival organizers are encouraging guests to take advantage of several cooling resources that will be available throughout the venue.
Free water stations will be located across the festival grounds, while visitors can cool off at the iconic Fountain of Rings or relax in multiple shaded seating areas. Organizers have also confirmed that guests may bring handheld fans and wearable neck fans into the festival to help stay comfortable during the summer heat.
Throughout the day, hydration and heat safety reminders will be shared from the main entertainment stage as well as through FIFA Fan Festival™ Atlanta and Centennial Olympic Park social media channels. Festival staff will continue encouraging visitors to drink plenty of water, seek shade when needed, and utilize the available cooling stations.
The emphasis on guest safety comes as Atlanta experiences another stretch of hot summer weather while welcoming tens of thousands of soccer fans from around the world. City officials and festival organizers have worked together throughout the tournament to ensure visitors have a safe and enjoyable experience despite the rising temperatures.
Adding to the excitement, organizers also announced that general admission for the festival is sold out, underscoring the tremendous demand surrounding World Cup events in Atlanta.
