Arike Ogunbowale Arrested in Miami on Misdemeanor Battery Charge

WNBA star Arike Ogunbowale was arrested early Thursday morning in Miami and charged with misdemeanor battery following an alleged altercation outside a downtown nightclub.

According to an arrest affidavit, the incident occurred around 4:20 a.m. outside the E11EVEN nightclub in downtown Miami. Authorities say a man working security at the venue was attempting to escort Ogunbowale or others from the area after a separate disturbance when the situation escalated.

The man told police that Ogunbowale struck him in the face with a closed fist, causing him to fall to the ground.

Police reported that surveillance footage from the nightclub was reviewed and supports the account given by the alleged victim.

Ogunbowale was booked into the Miami-Dade County jail and later released Thursday afternoon after posting a $1,000 bond.

The arrest came just hours after Ogunbowale and her team, Mist BC, captured the championship in the 2026 season of the Unrivaled basketball league.

Ogunbowale, a standout guard for the Dallas Wings in the WNBA, has been one of the league’s top scorers in recent seasons.

Both the Dallas Wings and Unrivaled Basketball released statements confirming they are aware of the incident and are gathering additional information as the situation develops.

The case remains under investigation.
