The Atlanta Gladiators, proud affiliate of the NHL’s Nashville Predators and the AHL’s Milwaukee Admirals, announced Wednesday that forward Isak Walther has been returned from loan and will rejoin the Gladiators.
Walther was loaned to Milwaukee on December 31 and appeared in four games with the Admirals, recording one assist. The 6-foot-4, 205-pound forward has been a key offensive presence for Atlanta this season, tallying 13 goals and 10 assists for 23 points in 25 games.
The rookie forward was named the ECHL Rookie of the Month for December after posting eight goals and five assists for 13 points in nine games. A first-year pro out of the University of Vermont, Walther currently leads all Gladiators rookies in scoring and ranks eighth among ECHL rookies with 23 points.
Before turning pro, Walther recorded 57 points (24 goals, 33 assists) in 128 career games at Vermont, establishing himself as a reliable two-way forward before making the jump to the professional ranks.
The Gladiators now turn their attention to a busy weekend as they renew the I-85 Rivalry with a three-in-three series against the Greenville Swamp Rabbits, highlighted by home games on January 18 and 19 at Gas South Arena.
