Atlanta Gladiators goaltender T.J. Semptimphelter has been named the Warrior Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Month for December, the league announced.
Semptimphelter was dominant between the pipes, going 5-0-0 with a 1.60 goals-against average and a .944 save percentage across five appearances during the month. The 23-year-old allowed two goals or fewer in all five outings and turned aside at least 28 shots in three games, consistently giving Atlanta a chance to win every night.
Under contract with the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League, Semptimphelter has been a difference-maker for the Gladiators this season. He owns an 11-3-0 record in 14 appearances and currently leads the ECHL with a 1.44 goals-against average and a .947 save percentage.
Before beginning his professional career, Semptimphelter appeared in 101 collegiate games split between Arizona State University and the University of North Dakota, compiling a 53-40-6 record, nine shutouts, a 2.63 GAA, and a .913 save percentage.
The Gladiators return to action on Military Night, January 9, when they host the Savannah Ghost Pirates at 7:10 p.m. at Gas South Arena.
