Skyhawks Show Fight Behind Williams’ Career Night, Fall to Wisconsin on the Road

The College Park Skyhawks continued their Midwest road swing Tuesday night but came up short, falling 116–98 to the Wisconsin Herd, the NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks.

Despite the loss, College Park was led by a standout performance from Malik Williams, who poured in a game-high 32 points, continuing his strong stretch of play on the road. Tyler Polley followed with 20 points, giving the Skyhawks a consistent scoring punch as they looked to keep pace throughout the night.

College Park set the tone early, striking first with a tip-in basket and knocking down back-to-back threes to jump out to an 8–4 lead. Wisconsin responded quickly, using a corner three and mid-range jumpers to regain momentum. The Herd closed the opening frame on a run, taking a 26–21 lead after one.

The Skyhawks stayed within striking distance in the second quarter, answering Wisconsin runs with timely baskets inside and from beyond the arc. College Park cut the deficit to 34–32, showing resilience, but Wisconsin countered with a strong finish to the half to take a 54–45 advantage into the break.

Coming out of halftime, the Skyhawks brought energy, attacking the paint and knocking down a three to trim the margin to 59–52. Each time College Park threatened to close the gap, Wisconsin had an answer, rebuilding its double-digit cushion behind perimeter shooting and transition offense. The Herd entered the fourth quarter up 86–74.

College Park opened the final period aggressively, cutting the deficit to 89–79, but Wisconsin responded with back-to-back plays on both ends to regain control. The Skyhawks continued to compete until the final horn, but the Herd pulled away late to secure the win.

Wisconsin was paced by Pete Nance, who recorded a 29-point, 11-rebound double-double, while Cormac Ryan added 20 points.

The Skyhawks now turn the page as they continue their road trip, heading to Michigan to take on the Grand Rapids Gold on Jan. 8, looking to bounce back and close out the trip on a strong note.
