Over the course of seven action-packed weeks, the Atlanta Hawks brought the heat to local parks across Metro Atlanta—surprising more than 1,500 kids with pop-up basketball clinics and fitness fun as part of their 2025 Community Court Tour.
This summer-long initiative made stops at 17 locations across Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Fulton, and Gwinnett counties, connecting with kids ages 5 to 18 through high-energy basketball instruction, team-building, and positive vibes. Whether it was their first dribble or their hundredth jump shot, each child left feeling stronger, more confident, and more connected to the game—and to their community.
Since launching, the Hawks’ Community Court Tour has impacted more than 7,500 kids throughout the region, growing bigger and more meaningful each year.
“Now in its fifth consecutive year, our Community Court Tour exemplifies our commitment to inspiring Atlanta’s youth both on and off the basketball court,” said Jon Babul, Vice President of Basketball Programs for the Hawks. “By delivering high-quality programming directly into neighborhoods across the city, we are empowering young people to build confidence, develop leadership skills, and create lasting memories centered on health and wellness.”
At each stop, youth got hands-on coaching from the Hawks Youth Basketball Development team, plus some love from Hawks alumni. These weren’t just drills—they were energy-packed sessions focused on fundamentals, fitness, and character development, all wrapped in fun.
And of course, the Hawks showed up with the swag. Kids took home official T-shirts, basketballs, and team-branded merch to keep the momentum going well after the last whistle blew.
To keep the vibes high and the hydration flowing, the Hawks teamed up with CareSource, who provided reusable water bottles and brought along fan-favorite mascot, Cuddles, for even more fun. The partnership, which kicked off in 2022, is all about making health and wellness accessible—and fun—for families across Atlanta.
“Partnering with the Hawks on the Community Court Tour has been an amazing opportunity to connect with youth and promote healthy habits in a fun, engaging way,” said Jason Bearden, President of CareSource Georgia. “At CareSource, we are committed to showing up in the communities we serve to support families. This partnership lets us promote better health for kids by highlighting how important it is for them to stay active.”
At the heart of it all is the Hawks Basketball Academy, committed to building the next generation of leaders through inclusive programming rooted in basketball, fitness, and values like teamwork, resilience, and confidence.
