Jalen Johnson to Miss Remainder of Season Following Shoulder Surgery

Atlanta Hawks forward Jalen Johnson has been diagnosed with a torn labrum in his left shoulder after sustaining a dislocation during the Jan. 23 game against the Toronto Raptors. The injury occurred early in the contest, forcing Johnson to exit and not return.

 

The Hawks announced that Johnson is scheduled to undergo surgery next week at the Emory Sports Medicine Complex, where Dr. Kyle Hammond will perform the procedure. The 23-year-old forward will miss the remainder of the 2024-25 NBA season but is expected to make a full recovery in time for the 2025-26 campaign.

 

Johnson, a key contributor for Atlanta this season, had emerged as a versatile and dynamic player on both ends of the floor. Known for his athleticism, defensive energy, and playmaking ability, his presence will be missed as the Hawks continue their push for playoff contention.

 

Despite the setback, the organization and fans remain optimistic about Johnson’s recovery and future impact on the team.
