The Atlanta Vibe (4-2) secured a thrilling win over the Vegas Thrill (3-3) on Thursday night at Gas South Arena, improving their undefeated franchise record against the Thrill to 6-0. The victory capped off a three-game home stretch for the Vibe, giving fans an electrifying conclusion before the team hits the road.
Atlanta’s defense shined throughout the match, totaling an impressive 15 blocks as a team. Outside hitter Leah Edmond led the charge with five blocks, while fellow outside hitter Taylor Head added three.
On the offensive side, the Vibe displayed firepower with three players recording double-digit kills. Opposite hitter Anna Dixon tallied 12 kills, while Edmond and Head matched her with 12 each. The team collectively achieved a .264 hitting efficiency, showcasing their offensive rhythm and dominance at the net.
Setter Mia Tuaniga made her first professional career start and delivered a stellar performance, recording 43 assists and averaging 10.75 assists per set. Her playmaking ability was instrumental in orchestrating the Vibe’s offensive success.
Taylor Head’s exceptional all-around effort earned her the Offensive Player of the Match award, sponsored by Morgan & Morgan. Her contributions both at the net and in the back row were key to Atlanta’s victory.
The Vibe now embark on a two-match road trip to face the San Diego Mojo and the Vegas Thrill once again. Following the road stint, they will return home to host the Orlando Valkyries on Thursday, February 6th, at 7:00 PM ET at Gas South Arena.
