The Atlanta Hawks and Chick-fil-A, Inc. celebrated the grand opening of a brand-new Chick-fil-A® location last Friday during the Hawks’ home game at State Farm Arena. Situated just outside Section 121 near Hawk Walk Market, the new restaurant will offer a limited menu for all concerts and Hawks home games—except on Sundays, staying true to the company’s long-standing tradition.
A Special Opening Night Experience
The game night festivities featured an exciting in-game promotion for the over 17,000 attendees. Fans were treated to an opportunity to claim a complimentary Chick-fil-A® Chicken Sandwich by downloading or opening the Chick-fil-A® App. Adding to the entertainment, the iconic Chick-fil-A Cows parachuted from the arena’s rafters during the second quarter, delighting the crowd.
“We are thrilled to open this new Chick-fil-A location at our home for all Hawks’ fans and concertgoers alike,” said Steve Koonin, Chief Executive Officer of the Hawks and State Farm Arena. “Chick-fil-A continues to be synonymous with the best chicken sandwich in this city, and it’s exciting for us to continue working with a ‘True to Atlanta’ partner who continues to find ways to enhance the experience for all who visit our award-winning arena.”

Meet the Owner-Operator
Chick-fil-A, Inc. has named T.J. Wilson as the independent franchised Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A at State Farm Arena. Wilson, who began his career with Chick-fil-A in 2015, also serves as the Owner-Operator of Chick-fil-A Wesley Chapel Road in Decatur, GA.
“As a long-time fan of the Hawks and someone who enjoys attending events at this venue, I’m honored and grateful for this opportunity,” said Wilson. “My team has done a tremendous job in preparing for this new and exciting partnership. We are looking forward to bringing the same care, quality food, and hospitality to our new Guests at Chick-fil-A State Farm Arena.”
Chick-fil-A’s Legacy at State Farm Arena
The partnership between Chick-fil-A and the Hawks has been longstanding, dating back to 2001. With the 2018 renovation of State Farm Arena, the Chick-fil-A Fan Zone was introduced, featuring custom Chick-fil-A® branding and over 1,000 seats in Sections 207-211. The arena also features the popular “Fowl Shot Promotion,” where Hawks fans have a chance to win a free Chick-fil-A® Sandwich through the Chick-fil-A® App if an opposing player misses both free throws during a trip to the foul line in the fourth quarter.
More Than a Partnership
Since its founding in 1967, Chick-fil-A® has proudly called Atlanta home. Together with local Owner-Operators, Chick-fil-A is committed to making a positive impact in the community through initiatives addressing food insecurity, youth development, and education.
