Jehlářová Leads Vibe to Seventh Win This Season

The Vibe came out swinging at Gas South Arena on Saturday night and never looked back. Led by Magdalena Jehlářová’s monster night at the net, Atlanta coasted to a four-set win over the Vegas Rollers to grab their seventh win of the young season and remain tied for first place in the league. With Anna Lazareva continuing to shine and the team firing on all cylinders, Atlanta looks poised to make a serious run at the title. But first, they’ll have to get through the rival Omaha Supernovas on the road Thursday, March 14.

Dominating the Net

Jehlářová was an absolute force, racking up a season-high seven blocks to frustrate the Rollers’ hitters all night long. Four of those blocks came in a second set that the Vibe won handily, 25-17. The Vibe have dominated Vegas at the net in their two previous meetings this season, totaling 19 blocks in those matches.

Lazareva Staying Hot

Russian outside hitter Anna Lazareva, continued her torrid start to the season, notching her fourth double-double in the past five games. Lazareva finished with 12 kills and 15 digs, once again leading the Vibe in both categories. Lazareva currently ranks third in the league in kills per set and second in digs. Her all-around play has been a huge factor in the Vibe’s hot start.

With seven wins already under their belt, the Vibe are keeping pace with the Omaha Supernovas atop the standings. With first place in the division potentially on the line Jehlářová and Lazareva must continue their dominant play.

Road Defense Key to Victory

For the Vibe, defending their road record will be key to victory in Omaha. At 4-1 on the road so far this season, Atlanta defensive prowess will need to carry over. The Vibe have shown they can win away from the comforts of home. But Omaha is a tough place to play, and the Supernovas have only lost once at home. However Omaha has struggled at times this season against strong blocking teams, so Jehlářová could be primed for another MVP-caliber night.

The ViBE squad is on a roll and with Jehlářová dominating at the net and Lazareva racking up kills and digs, this team seems unstoppable. Just a few more wins and we’ll lock down that top spot in the division. As the team have won all four of their home games so far this season, and will be relying on that home court advantage when they host the Orlando Valkyries on March 21. Make sure to grab tickets for the home game against Orlando coming up. It’s going to be a vibe cheering on our Vibe!
