The College Park Skyhawks host the last home game in a matchup against the Grand Rapids Gold for a back-to-back game at the gateway center arena on Saturday, March 18th, 2023. The Skyhawks come off a win against the Grand Rapids Gold from Friday, March 17th, 2023 matchup.
 
Tonight’s matchup is a sold-out game on fan appreciation night. This is the Skyhawks’ fourth sellout of the season according to the Skyhawks PR team. Tonight the Skyhawks fell to the Grand Rapids Gold 93-102. The Grand Rapids Golds outscored the Skyhawks tonight in the first half (54 to Skyhawks 47) and (48 to Skyhawks 46) in the second half. With the Skyhawks’ leading scorer, #5 Brandon Williams out due to a quad contusion for tonight’s match, #30 Chris Silva and #2 Trent Forrest led the Skyhawks by making big plays to the basket, grabbing rebounds, and driving to the basket to draw fouls and increasing points off the board. Skyhawks fought hard to come back, increasing points made and making fewer mistakes with two mins left on the clock but with minor fouls, the team failed to get the lead for tonight.
 
#30 Silva finished the game with 19 points showing his aggressiveness and drive for the game he loves to play, pushing to get his team to the playoffs. A highlight of Silva’s aggressiveness in tonight’s game was when he made an outstanding block to gain the energy of the fans and team. The Skyhawks will end the season with a fight to make the playoffs away in their next matchup on Tuesday, March 21st against the Raptors 905 in Mississauga, Ontario.
