“We are excited to once again partner with Georgia’s Own Credit Union and Vision To Learn to support our youth through the power of sight and reading materials on National Read Across America Day,” said Executive Vice President of External Affairs and Executive Director of the Atlanta Hawks Foundation David Lee.

On March 16, Vision To Learn will host a special eyeglasses distribution event at Bethune Elementary School in collaboration with the College Park Skyhawks. The event aims to distribute eyeglasses to more than 100 College Park youth.

Children in metro Atlanta go to school every day without the glasses they need to see the board, read a book or participate in the classroom. The primary barrier is a lack of access to vision services for students in low-income communities. To solve this problem, Vision To Learn brings vision services to students at school using mobile clinic vans. The organization coordinates with school site staff and district administrative staff to schedule visits.
