Coming off a 138-144 loss to the Hornets, Atlanta Hawks retuned home to State Farm for the last game before the Allstar break to face the Knicks on Feb 15. This is the fourth and final time these two clubs will face off in the 2022-23 regular season, with Atlanta holding a 2-1 record over New York this season.

In the 1st quarter the ball movement was slow for Atlanta the Hawks trailed the Knicks 21-37.

At the half the Hawks defense slowly begin to pickup but the Knicks continually showed dominance on the court with the team leading 44-66.

In the 3rd quarter the Hawks begin to loose momentum. Just when we saw a glimmer of hope the Knicks fire back and continue the lead 76-91.

In the final quarter the Knicks continued to block shots.
Hawks Bogi was able to land a 3 to narrow the scoring efforts to 13 points.

Just as the scoring efforts shrunk it quickly expanded in favor of New York. In the end opportunities was given but the Hawks failed to execute resulting in a 101-122 loss to the Knicks.

The Hawks had three players score 25+ points for the first time since 12/5/21 against Charlotte: Dejounte Murray led the team in scoring 26 points, recording his fifth straight 25+ point game, while Trae Young poured in 25 points, making it his 21st point/assist double-double of the season. De’Andre Hunter rounded off the scoring efforts with a season-high tying 25 points on 10-16 shooting from the floor.
This was the second straight game Atlanta had three 20+ point scorers, moving their record to 6-3 this season when doing so.

Next Up: The Hawks are getting a well needed RELAX, RELATE, RELEASE break ahead of the NBA All-Star weekend kicking off on Feb. 17-19 at Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City.
Atlanta will return to action on Friday Feb 28. to face the Cavs at State Farm Arena.
Meanwhile first -year Hawk, AJ Griffin will be one of 28 participants in the Jordan Rising Stars challenge that showcase young talent, in mini-tournaments with four teams and three games as part of NBA All-Star 2023 .
All three games in Jordan Rising Stars will be played to a Final Target Score, meaning that each game will end with a made basket or a made free throw instead of with the clock running out. The semifinal games will be played to a Final Target Score of 40. The final game will be played to a Final Target Score of 25.
