The Skyhawks winning streak continued on Monday night in a 127-119 win against the Delaware Blue Coats.
College Park’s fourth straight win helps maintain the team’s lead at the top of the East region leading up to the NBA G League Winter Showcase.
Chris Silva knocked down the game’s first basket; he finished with 24 points and 11 rebounds for his seventh double-double of the season.
“We played the game like we were playing in the park. We play for each other, and we help each other out. We don’t care who takes the next shot. When everyone plays like that, it’s fun to play,” said Silva.
The Skyhawks opened the first quarter with 41 points and led the Blue Coats at the half, 72-56.
The momentum shifted in the third quarter. Delaware began the second half on an 18-6 run to cut the lead to two.
“We won, that’s good, but we have to finish games better. We have to be able to lock in, take care of the ball, not turn it over, make free throws,” said Skyhawks Head Coach Steve Gansey. “Great teams finish the game, and we gave them a little hope at the end.”
The Skyhawks will play the Blue Coats again on Wednesday at the Gateway Center Arena to close out the two-game series.
