It was a history-making night for Purata, who became both the all-time highest-scoring defender in Atlanta history with six goals in 13 matches, and the second full-time defender to record a hat trick in MLS history.
Both Almada and Purata were named to the MLS Team of the Week while Almada also took home MLS Goal of the Week honors.

Now with only 4 games left the win on Saturday gave Atlanta a must needed 3 points. The Five Stripes have a chance to gain another 3 points and keep the playoff spot hope alive when the team matchup against itβs rival the Lions.
Up Next: Atlanta United is headed to Florida to take on Orlando City SC on Wednesday at Exploria Stadium. This will be the second matchup in 2022, both clubs drew 1-1 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on July 17.
