The accolade marks Howard’s fifth of her debut season, coming just a week after she was named to the 2022 WNBA All-Star team. She became the Dream’s second-ever rookie All-Star in franchise history, and the first rookie to make the All-Star team since Napheesa Collier in 2019.
Howard also took home the WNBA Rookie of the Month award in May as the top-scoring first-year player and top-10 scoring player in the league. Howard also became the WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week on May 15, Associated Press Player of the Week on May 16.
