The clinic provided coaches from all levels on-court demonstrations from Hawks’ Head Coach Nate McMillan and his coaching staff. The attendees also had an opportunity to learn about coaching education on topics such as; X’s and O’s, Passing, Shooting, Defense, Leadership, and Player Development.
After the clinic, the participants received food and beverages, and Hawks “swag bags” with merchandise courtesy of Adidas.
“Atlanta Hawks Basketball Academy is part of our DNA. It’s to train coaches in markets all over Metro Atlanta at any level and just like today’s program 900 RSVP’s, 600-700 guests showed up and attended. That’s free education.” said Hawks’ Vice President of Basketball Development Jon Babul who played an integral role in organizing the event. “That’s 90 minutes of face time with the Atlanta Hawks coaching staff on the floor going through the plays the X’s and O’s, the drills, and speaking on the best practices. You really can’t put a price tag on that. The value of that for any coach that was here today is priceless.”
