Registration Now Open for Hawks and State Farm’s 2025 Million Meal Pack

ATLANTA – The Atlanta Hawks and State Farm are gearing up for their fifth Million Meal Pack, set for Saturday, September 27 at State Farm Arena. This signature community event is the team’s largest service initiative of the year, and the goal is big: pack one million meals in a single day for families across metro Atlanta.

The need couldn’t be more urgent. According to the Atlanta Community Food Bank, one in seven Georgians are food insecure — including one in five children. That’s why the Hawks, alongside hunger relief partner U.S. Hunger, are calling on more than 5,000 volunteers to join them for this special day of service.

Starting today, you can sign up at Hawks.com/mealpack. Volunteers will select one of six 90-minute shifts, with around 1,000 people per shift working together to assemble nutritious jambalaya meal packs. Each pack creates six hearty servings, helping ensure families in need have access to food they can count on.

And this isn’t just about work — it’s about community. Once their shift wraps up, volunteers are invited to a special celebration on State Farm Drive, complete with music, games, and refreshments. It’s the Hawks’ way of saying thank you for making a difference.

“Partnering with State Farm on this meaningful initiative reflects our deep-rooted commitment to uplifting the communities we serve and combatting food insecurity,” said Hawks CEO Steve Koonin. “We’re thrilled to invite all of Atlanta to take part in our signature community event, and we’re continually inspired by the thousands of volunteers who come together with us to pack one million meals.”

This year’s event will feature some familiar faces. Past volunteers have included Hawks legends like Dominique Wilkins, as well as current players Dyson Daniels and Jalen Johnson. Atlanta City Council President Doug Shipman, along with entertainers like Mariah the Scientist, Buddy Redd, and Young Dro, have also joined in. Expect the same kind of star power this year, paired with a family-friendly, festive atmosphere.

State Farm Senior Vice President Allyson Watts added, “The Million Meal Pack promotes a sense of community and helps support the efforts of our nonprofit partners who are dedicated to feeding metro Atlanta every day. State Farm is proud to bring together local State Farm agents, employees, and community volunteers for this important initiative as we strive to build safer, stronger, and better educated communities.”

Since the program’s start in 2019, the Hawks and State Farm have rallied more than 21,000 volunteers to pack over 4.1 million meals. The impact has been felt in households across Atlanta, and this year’s effort will add another million to that total.

“We’re incredibly grateful to the Hawks and State Farm for continuing to show up for families in Atlanta,” said U.S. Hunger CEO Rick Whitted. “This event is a powerful reminder of what’s possible when a community comes together, not just to pack meals, but to stand with one another in service and support.”

The Hawks and State Farm have long worked together beyond the Million Meal Pack. From opening Good Neighbor Clubs in local neighborhoods to hosting STEM programs and youth initiatives, their focus on building stronger communities runs deep.
