Falcons Place Troy Andersen on PUP List; Several Others Added to NFI List

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — The Atlanta Falcons made several roster moves ahead of training camp, headlined by placing inside linebacker Troy Andersen on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list.

In addition, the team announced that inside linebacker Malik Verdon, defensive lineman LaCale London, and defensive back Cobee Bryant have been placed on the non-football injury/illness (NFI) list. The Falcons also released veteran defensive back Kevin King.

Andersen, a key piece of the Falcons’ defense, appeared in seven games last season, making four starts. He totaled 44 tackles (25 solo), three sacks, one tackle for loss, and returned an interception for a touchdown in 2024. His presence on the PUP list is notable, but players on this list during training camp can be activated at any time.

Verdon, a 2024 undrafted free agent from Iowa State, impressed during his collegiate career with 134 tackles (68 solo), 10 passes defensed, four tackles for loss, three interceptions, and two forced fumbles over 27 games.

London, who entered the league with the Chicago Bears in 2020, is heading into his third year with the Falcons. In 2023, he appeared in seven games and contributed 13 tackles (six solo), two tackles for loss, and a fumble recovery.

Bryant, another 2024 undrafted signee, was a standout at Kansas. Over 47 games, he posted 128 tackles (107 solo), 13 interceptions, 11 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, and two pick-sixes. Known for his ball-hawking skills, Bryant also added three forced fumbles and a fumble recovery for a touchdown to his resume.

The team’s release of Kevin King, who was previously signed for depth in the secondary, opens up space as the Falcons continue to fine-tune the roster ahead of the 2025 season.

Stay tuned for updates throughout training camp as players work toward returning to full strength.
