Atlanta United Looks to Bounce Back After Scoreless Draw in D.C.

As Atlanta United prepares for tonight’s clash with Toronto FC, the club carries momentum from a gritty performance on the road.

On July 5, the Five Stripes battled to a 0–0 draw against D.C. United at Audi Field. The result marked Atlanta’s second clean sheet of the season, with the back line stepping up to deliver one of their most disciplined outings yet. The defense held firm throughout the night, allowing just one shot on target and frustrating D.C.’s attack from start to finish.

While the draw added a valuable road point, the squad remains hungry to return to winning form as the summer stretch heats up.

In roster news, Atlanta United has announced that winger Edwin Mosquera has been loaned to Millonarios F.C. of Colombia’s first division through June 30, 2026, with an option for a permanent transfer. Since arriving in 2022 as a U-22 Initiative signing, Mosquera has made 56 MLS appearances, recording five goals and two assists. One of his most memorable moments came earlier this season—a clutch, game-winning strike against CF Montréal in the season opener.

Now, Mosquera returns to his home country to continue his development with one of Colombia’s top clubs, proudly representing Atlanta on the international stage.

Next Up: Road Test in Toronto

Atlanta United heads to Canada tonight to face Toronto FC at BMO Field, with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. ET.

Here’s tonight’s injury report:

  • Josh Cohen (Arm) – Out
  • Jay Fortune (Foot) – Out
  • Stian Gregersen (Quadriceps) – Out
  • Derrick Williams (Foot) – Out

After last week’s defensive stand, Atlanta is focused on getting back into the win column—and with everything surrounding the club this week, a strong showing would mean more than just three points. It would be a statement of resilience, unity, and belief in the road ahead.
