Atlanta United Goalkeeper Josh Cohen to Miss Six Weeks with Forearm Fracture

Atlanta United announced Tuesday that goalkeeper Josh Cohen is expected to miss the next six weeks after suffering a left forearm fracture. The injury, sustained during a recent training session, will sideline the veteran shot-stopper for a significant portion of the summer schedule. The club stated that Cohen’s return-to-play timeline will ultimately depend on the pace of his rehabilitation.

Cohen, who joined Atlanta ahead of the 2024 MLS season, has provided experience and depth at the goalkeeper position. Known for his sharp reflexes and leadership in the back, his absence presents a challenge for the squad as it navigates a critical portion of the season.

Atlanta United (4-8-5, 17 points) continues its campaign on Thursday, June 13, when it travels to face New York City FC at Yankee Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET, with the match available on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.

NYCFC (8-6-2, 26 points), led by head coach Ronny Deila, has found its rhythm in recent weeks and poses a tough challenge at home. Atlanta, seeking to rebound from a rough stretch of results, will look to regroup and build momentum in the Bronx. With Cohen sidelined, the goalkeeping duties are expected to fall primarily to veteran Brad Guzan, while backup options may see increased involvement as the club manages its roster during the busy summer period.
