ATLANTA — Atlanta United announced that the club has received up to $250,000 in General Allocation Money (GAM) from St. Louis CITY SC in exchange for winger Xande Silva. The move was finalized prior to the close of Major League Soccer’s Primary Transfer Window on Wednesday.
As part of the deal, Atlanta will receive a guaranteed $100,000 in 2025 GAM and could earn an additional $150,000 in 2026 GAM based on performance-based incentives. Atlanta will retain Silva’s Special Discovery tag, while St. Louis will take on the full charge of Silva’s 2025 salary budget.
Silva, 27, originally joined Atlanta United on loan from Dijon FCO on August 2, 2023. The Five Stripes exercised their purchase option during the offseason, making the Portuguese winger a permanent addition ahead of the 2024 season. In 40 career MLS appearances, Silva has started 27 matches, tallying four goals and seven assists. In 2025, he has featured in seven games, recording one assist.
With the Primary Transfer Window now closed, MLS clubs will not be able to request an international transfer certificate for a player under contract abroad or conduct intra-league trades until the Secondary Transfer Window opens on July 24, 2025.
