The future is bright in Atlanta! Hawks forward Zaccharie Risacher has been named the Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month for March, marking his second consecutive win after earning the honor in February. He’s the only rookie this season, in either conference, to claim back-to-back Rookie of the Month awards, a testament to his rapid development and rising stardom.
Risacher elevated his game in March, averaging 16.3 points on .533 FG%, .393 3FG%, and .739 FT%, along with 3.8 rebounds and 1.0 assist in 27 minutes per game. His 16.3 points per game were the highest of his rookie season, marking four straight months of scoring improvement—proof that he’s hitting his stride at the perfect time.
The No. 1 overall pick also stood out efficiency-wise, ranking second among rookies in effective field goal percentage (.632%) and leading all Eastern Conference rookies in offensive rating. No other first-year player this season has averaged at least 16.0 points on 50% shooting or better in a single month, making Risacher’s performance even more impressive.
March was packed with highlight moments for the 19-year-old star. In the Hawks’ 145-124 win over Milwaukee on March 30, Risacher erupted for a career-high 36 points, shooting 12-of-21 from the field while adding six rebounds and a steal. His 36-point outing was the highest by any Eastern Conference rookie this season and placed him among just 10 teenagers in NBA history to reach that mark in a game.
Earlier in the month, he delivered a dominant 27-point performance against Memphis, shooting an incredible 11-of-13 from the field and 5-of-7 from deep while recording a career-high four steals. He became the first rookie since Scottie Barnes (2022) to post 27+ points on 80% shooting with four steals—a stat line that showcases both his scoring prowess and defensive impact.
With Risacher leading the charge, the Hawks finished March with a 9-5 record, their best single-month performance since 2022. For the first time since the 2015-16 season, Atlanta has now recorded multiple months with a winning percentage above .600, showing that the team is gaining momentum at the right time.
Through 67 games (65 starts), Risacher is averaging 12.4 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 24.8 minutes per game. He currently ranks top five among all rookies in total points, field goals, three-pointers, free throws, and steals.
With his confidence soaring and his game evolving, Risacher is proving why he was the No. 1 pick—and why the Hawks’ future looks incredibly bright.
