The Atlanta Hawks will conclude their two-game homestand on February 7 against the Milwaukee Bucks at State Farm Arena. Following the matchup, the team will embark on a three-game road trip starting February 8 against the Washington Wizards. This back-to-back marks Atlanta’s fourth in as many weeks, highlighting a demanding stretch in the schedule.
The game comes just a day after an explosive trade on February 6 that sent De’Andre Hunter to the Cleveland Cavaliers and Bogdan Bogdanović to the Los Angeles Clippers. Atlanta returns to its home court looking to refocus and maintain its competitive edge despite key roster changes.
Hawks Leading in Team Assists
In their February 5 game against the San Antonio Spurs, Atlanta notched 33 assists, marking their 25th game of the season with 30 or more assists. This achievement ties the franchise record set during the 1960-61, 1969-70, and 2024-25 seasons. The Hawks, who lead the Eastern Conference in this category, are averaging 29.1 assists per game — fourth in the NBA and on pace to break the franchise’s single-season record.
Okongwu’s Career Night and Consistent Performance
Onyeka Okongwu delivered a breakout performance against the Spurs, scoring a career-high 30 points on 13-16 shooting, including 3-5 from beyond the arc. He added 12 rebounds, five assists, and a block in 31 minutes. Okongwu is the first Hawk since Al Horford in 2010 to post at least 30 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists on 80% shooting in a single game.
Over his last 10 games, Okongwu has been highly efficient, averaging 14.3 points on 65.2% shooting, 9.0 rebounds, and 2.9 assists in nearly 29 minutes per game. His consistency places him among only three NBA players achieving such numbers since January 20.
Trae Young’s Stellar Streak
Trae Young continued his scoring tear with 32 points and 12 assists against San Antonio, marking his league-leading ninth game with at least 30 points and 10 assists this season, tied with Nikola Jokic. Young has recorded three consecutive 30-point games, averaging 33.3 points and 12.7 assists during that stretch.
In a historic feat, Young and Okongwu became the first Hawks duo since 2021 to tally 30+ points with double-digit assists and rebounds in the same game.
Daniels’ Defensive Dominance and Playmaking
Dyson Daniels has been a two-way force, averaging 16.9 points, 6.8 rebounds, 4.7 assists, and 2.7 steals over his last 11 games. Daniels extended his streak to 22 consecutive games with at least one steal, the longest active streak in the NBA and the longest for a Hawk since Jason Terry’s 27-game streak in 2003-04.
Zaccharie Risacher Nears Milestone
Rookie Zaccharie Risacher stands just nine points shy of his 500th career point. If he reaches the milestone against Milwaukee, he will become the second-youngest player in franchise history to record 500 points, 150 rebounds, 50 assists, and 50 three-pointers.
The Hawks will look to regroup after their trade moves and maintain momentum against the Bucks before tackling a challenging three-game road trip.
