Chris Lindstrom Earns Third Consecutive All-Pro Selection; Falcons Announce Coaching Changes

The Atlanta Falcons continue to showcase the dominance of their offensive line as guard Chris Lindstrom was named a second-team All-Pro by the Associated Press for the 2024 season. This marks Lindstrom’s third consecutive All-Pro recognition, following similar honors in 2022 and 2023. Adding to his accolades, Lindstrom was also named to the NFLPA All-Pro team and selected for the 2025 Pro Bowl.

Lindstrom’s Stellar 2024 Season

Lindstrom, in his sixth NFL season, started all 17 games at right guard, solidifying himself as a cornerstone of Atlanta’s offensive line. His leadership was pivotal in propelling the Falcons’ offense to rank among the league’s best. The unit averaged 369.8 total yards per game, ranking sixth in the NFL, and 5.8 yards per play, good for eighth.

The Falcons excelled in pass protection, allowing the seventh-lowest sack percentage in the league (5.7%) and tying for seventh in total sacks allowed (32). Lindstrom also played a significant role in Atlanta’s balanced attack, helping the team achieve a top-10 rushing offense (130.5 yards per game) and a top-five passing offense (239.3 yards per game). Over the last two seasons, Lindstrom has been instrumental in the Falcons surpassing 100 rushing yards in 23 games.

With Lindstrom anchoring the offensive line, Atlanta has demonstrated sustained excellence and balance on offense, setting a foundation for continued success in the years to come.

Falcons Part Ways with Defensive Staff Members

In addition to celebrating Lindstrom’s accomplishments, the Falcons also announced significant changes to their coaching staff. Defensive Coordinator Jimmy Lake and Defensive Line Coach Jay Rodgers will not return for the 2025 season.

“After a thorough evaluation of the season, and with careful consideration for our team’s future, we deemed these moves necessary,” said Falcons head coach Raheem Morris. “These decisions are never easy from the human side of things, and we wish Jimmy, Jay, and their families the best.”

The Falcons will now begin the search for new defensive leadership to complement a team poised to build on its strengths heading into the 2025 season. With Lindstrom and the offensive line setting the tone, the focus shifts to enhancing the defense to position Atlanta as a true contender in the NFC.

As the offseason unfolds, all eyes will be on how the Falcons retool their staff and roster to continue their ascent in the NFL.
