The Atlanta Vibe (0-1) are set to face the Vegas Thrill (1-0) in their second match of the 2025 season. The highly anticipated matchup will take place on Sunday, January 12th, at the Lee’s Family Forum, with the first serve scheduled for 8 p.m. ET. Fans can catch the action live on YouTube.
The Vibe are coming off a nail-biting five-set match in their season opener against the Omaha Supernovas. Despite a valiant effort, Atlanta fell short, losing 13-15 in the final set. The game was played in front of a record-breaking crowd of 13,486 fans at Omaha’s Chi Health Center, setting a new attendance high for the league.
One of the standout performers for the Vibe was Opposite Hitter Merritt Beason, who made an impressive professional debut back in her collegiate home state. The Nebraska alum led the team with 17 kills. Middle Blocker McKenna Vicini also shined in her first appearance for the Vibe, posting a .435 hitting percentage and contributing four blocks.
Sunday’s match offers a chance for redemption as the Vibe look to build on their success from last season, where they went undefeated (4-0) against Vegas. However, the Thrill are coming into the game with momentum, having secured a reverse sweep victory against the Grand Rapids Rise in their season opener.
Looking ahead, the Vibe’s home opener is set for 7 p.m. ET at Gas South Arena, where fans will have the opportunity to cheer on their team in person.
Can the Vibe rekindle their dominance over Vegas and earn their first win of the season? Tune in Sunday to find out.
