The Atlanta Hawks have officially signed guard/forward Daeqwon Plowden to a two-way contract, the team announced today. In line with team policy, the terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Plowden, a versatile 6-6 guard/forward, has been a standout performer for the Hawks’ NBA G League affiliate, the College Park Skyhawks, this season. Over 14 games (six starts), he has posted impressive averages of 14.2 points and 3.7 rebounds in 27.8 minutes per game. Consistency has been a hallmark of Plowden’s season, with 10 or more points in 11 of his 14 appearances, including two 20-point performances.
Originally signed by the Hawks on September 27, 2024, Plowden was waived just prior to the start of the season on October 18. Since then, his performances in the G League have clearly solidified his value to the organization.
Undrafted in 2022, Plowden has steadily built an impressive resume in the NBA G League. Across 105 career games (28 starts) with the College Park Skyhawks, Osceola Magic (2023-24), and Birmingham Squadron (2022-23), he has averaged 10.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game, shooting 44.5% from the field, 37.8% from three-point range, and 77.8% from the free-throw line.
Plowden also spent time with the Golden State Warriors earlier this year, signing a two-way deal in July and appearing in the California Classic and NBA 2K25 Summer League. Starting all eight games he played for the Warriors during the summer, he averaged 14.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.6 assists while shooting 47.0% from the field and 39.6% from beyond the arc.
A Philadelphia native, Plowden built a solid foundation during his collegiate career at Bowling Green State University. He appeared in a program-record 154 games, earning recognition on the 2021-22 MAC All-Defensive Team and the All-MAC Third Team.
With his ability to contribute on both ends of the floor, Plowden’s signing provides depth and flexibility for the Hawks as they navigate the season. His journey from undrafted talent to G League standout to NBA opportunity reflects his work ethic and determination.
