The College Park Skyhawks (3-0) maintained their undefeated start to the season, taking down Raptors 905 (1-2) by a score of 101-95, completing a two-game sweep and notching their sixth consecutive win against the 905. The Skyhawks’ sharpshooting from beyond the arc has been a standout this season, as they connected on 14 three-pointers (14-37 3FGM) in this matchup. With a total of 46 made triples through their first three games (46-113 3FGM, .407 3FG%), the Skyhawks set a new franchise record for most threes in the opening three games of a season.
Atlanta Hawks two-way player Dominick Barlow led the way with a stellar performance, posting game highs of 22 points (8-13 FGM), 13 rebounds, and three blocks in 35 minutes. Barlow, a native of Dumont, New Jersey, became the first Skyhawk to record a stat line of 20+ points, 13+ rebounds, and 3+ blocks in a game since Chris Silva accomplished the feat in March 2023. Across his two games with College Park, Barlow is averaging an impressive 22.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 4.0 blocks in 33.0 minutes.
Guard Jarkel Joiner continued his hot streak, finishing with 22 points (7-14 FGM, 4-8 3FGM), seven rebounds, five assists, and one steal in 28 minutes. This performance marked the first time in his career that Joiner posted 20+ points, 5+ rebounds, and 5+ assists in a single game. Joiner, who is averaging 26.0 points over his last two games, is enjoying the most prolific scoring stretch of his career.
Barlow and Joiner combined for 44 points, with forward Daeqwon Plowden contributing a season-high 18 points over 33 minutes in his third start. College Park opened the game with an impressive shooting display, sinking their first five three-pointers to jump to a 32-18 lead—the first time in franchise history they’ve started a game with five consecutive makes from beyond the arc. The Skyhawks maintained a 57-50 lead at halftime, with Joiner contributing 10 points and four assists in the first two quarters.
The 905 came out strong in the third quarter, going on a 13-3 run to take their first lead at the 7:24 mark. The Skyhawks responded with a 15-7 run to close the quarter, securing a 77-70 lead they wouldn’t relinquish. Raptors forward Ulrich Chomche scored eight points in the fourth quarter, helping the 905 narrow the gap to four with 2:34 remaining. However, timely free throws and a crucial charge drawn by Joiner helped the Skyhawks hold on for the 101-95 win.
The Raptors 905 had five players score in double figures, with Kennedy Chandler nearly achieving a double-double with 16 points and nine assists. Chomche also contributed with 12 points and nine rebounds, narrowly missing a double-double as well.
The Skyhawks will look to continue their winning streak as they return to Gateway Center Arena for “Kids Day” on Sunday, Nov. 17, facing the Delaware Blue Coats at 2 p.m.
