The Atlanta Hawks have officially announced the return of their third annual Divine 9 Night, presented by State Farm, set for Friday, Nov. 1. The event, held during the Hawks’ matchup against the Sacramento Kings at 7:30 p.m. in the award-winning State Farm Arena, will celebrate the Black Greek Letter Organizations that form the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), known collectively as the Divine Nine (D9).
In honor of this special night, the Hawks are offering a limited-time ticket package that includes a co-branded Hawks and State Farm Divine 9 shirt, while supplies last. Fans who purchase this package will also receive a $10 food-and-beverage credit and a donation will be made to the NPHC of Greater Atlanta. Tickets for this package can be secured at Hawks.com/promotions.
“We’re thrilled to partner with State Farm to make a meaningful impact on students’ lives and honor the powerful legacy of the Divine 9,” said Camye Mackey, the Hawks’ Executive Vice President and Chief People, Diversity, and Inclusion Officer. “We invite fans to join us on November 1st as we celebrate these historic Black Greek Letter organizations and the pivotal role they play in shaping young leaders and building strong communities.”
As part of their commitment to supporting the Divine 9, the Hawks and State Farm will each donate $8,000 to five local institutions: Clark Atlanta University, Georgia Institute of Technology (GT), Georgia State University (GSU), Morehouse College, and Spelman College. Each school will identify four students who are members of a Divine 9 organization to receive a $2,000 scholarship to help further their education.
State Farm’s Operations Manager and member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Brian K. Ford, emphasized the importance of the initiative, stating, “For well over a century, these organizations have been a cornerstone, providing essential support and uplifting the communities we serve. It is heartening to see fellow community-minded partners join us in honoring these contributions and celebrating our achievements together.”
Adding to the celebration, the national anthem will be performed by renowned musician and Alpha Phi Alpha member Melvin M. Miller, who has been part of previous Divine 9 Nights. Miller is known for his exceptional musical talent and community engagement.
Fans attending with the special ticket package will also have the opportunity to take part in a pregame community service project, assembling 2,000 hygiene kits known as LOVE Bags in collaboration with Project U First. The hygiene kits will be distributed to Mimi’s Pantry, the official food pantry for the Atlanta University Center, and Panther’s Pantry, which supports the GSU community in addressing food insecurity.
The night will also feature a halftime strolling performance by Hawks team members and State Farm employees who are members of the Divine 9, offering a nod to the rich cultural traditions of these organizations. Students who were recipients of gap scholarships through last year’s efforts will be present at the game and receive special co-branded Hawks and D9 shirts, courtesy of State Farm.
Divine 9 Night promises to be a special celebration of unity, education, and community, highlighting the ongoing impact of Black Greek Letter Organizations in Atlanta and beyond.
