Women Trailblazers Share Their Keys to Success at ‘She LEADS’

Get ready to be inspired! On Saturday the second annual She LEADS Women’s Empowerment Program hosted by the Atlanta Hawks and State Farm at the Emory Sports Medicine Complex, brought together an incredible lineup of women trailblazers who are shaking up the worlds of sports, business, entertainment, and STEAM. Nearly 150 women had the chance to hear powerful stories and soak up hard-earned wisdom during engaging panel discussions and intimate fireside chats.

The summit featured key speakers and panelists from women leaders across various industries and organizations, including Angel McCoughtry (Olympic Gold Medalist, Former WNBA Player), and Monique Picou (Vice President of Cloud Supply Chain and Operations, Google) Nadine Alvarez (Human Resources Director, Delta), Dominique Giovine (Senior Vice President/General Manager, Moët Hennessy USA), La’Kerri Jackson (Global Director of Social Impact, UPS), Lauren Koontz (President and CEO, YMCA of Metro Atlanta), Mathilda Lambert (Vice President and Community Manager, Community and Business Development, JP Morgan Chase),.

Failure isn’t the end—it’s often the beginning of something amazing! These remarkable women have faced countless obstacles and emerged victorious. During the one day summit panelists revealed how they’ve transformed their biggest setbacks into opportunities for growth and innovation, while cultivating resilience, adaptation to change, and use of adversity as fuel for ambitions.

In today’s competitive landscape, standing out is crucial. “It doesn’t matter if you climb the ranks of leadership if you don’t know how to lift as you fly.” said Hawks and State Farm Arena’s Vice President of DEI Impact and Strategic Initiatives Alexis Roe.

The trailblazers dished out their top tips for crafting a compelling personal brand and building a powerful network. The attendees discovered how to leverage social media, public speaking, and strategic relationships to amplify their voice and expand influence in their chosen field.

The season long SheLEADS’ program aims to promote gender equality by empowering women to embody qualities of boldness, courage, persistence and presence in leadership roles and elevate women in Atlanta’s professional and entrepreneurial sectors.
