Atlanta United  announced the Legacy Collection, a custom retail line celebrating Atlanta’s rich Black culture and honoring the significance of Juneteenth. The Legacy Collection is the club’s first player-led collaboration.

Atlanta United players – Jay Fortune, Tristan Muyumba, Xande Silva, Caleb Wiley, Derrick Williams and former player Derrick Etienne Jr. – provided creative direction for the collection. The final designs seamlessly blend the history of Juneteenth with the players’ perspectives to craft meaningful pieces representative of both the club and city.

The collection includes a t-shirt, sweatshirt, scarf and Juneteenth patch which players will wear during matches on June 15 and 19. The patch prominently displays ‘June 19, 1865,’ the date marking the emancipation of slaves in Texas and symbolic of freedom for African Americans. The red, blue and white colors are derived from the Juneteenth flag. Magnolia flowers, symbolic of southern history and culture, and blanket flowers, native to Galveston, Texas where Juneteenth began, are featured throughout the collection.

Honoring History and Looking Ahead

The Legacy Collection honors the past while looking ahead to continued progress on equality and justice. Proceeds from sales will benefit Black Players for Change, an organization of Black MLS players, coaches and staff working to promote and bridge racial equity gaps across the sport of soccer and beyond.

“We are proud to introduce the Legacy Collection, a meaningful collaboration that celebrates Atlanta’s vibrant Black culture and honors the significance of Juneteenth,” said Skate Noftsinger, Atlanta United Chief Business Officer.

Photographer Cam Kirk, a Morehouse alum and founder of Collective Gallery, hosted the photo shoot for the collection’s campaign. The images further highlight the collection’s themes of history, culture and progress.

This meaningful collection is a statement of the club’s and players’ shared commitment to recognizing and uplifting the Black community by intertwining history and culture with the present day.

The Legacy Collection will be available Thursday, June 13 at the club’s Team Store at Atlantic Station. It will be available at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium Team Store starting Saturday, June 15 during Atlanta United’s home match.
