Atlanta United is back at Mercedes-Benz Stadium this Sunday looking to continue its unbeaten home form. The Five Stripes have won all three matches in front of the faithful fans so far this season, outscoring opponents by a combined 9-1.
They’ll face a tough test against Philadelphia Union, the only team left in MLS without a loss in 2024. The Union have been stingy defensively, allowing just five goals, tied with Atlanta for second-fewest in the league.
Atlanta will look to dynamic wingers Saba Lobjanidze and Brooks Lennon to unlock Philadelphia. The pair have combined for seven goal contributions, with three assists each, the most on the team.
If Atlanta can get crosses into the box, they’ll like their chances. The Five Stripes lead MLS with a 49.4% success rate on crosses this season. Joseph Martinez and Erick Torres, with three goals each, have shown a knack for getting on the end of quality service.
A victory would see Atlanta win their first four home matches of a season for the first time ever. They’ve had Philadelphia’s number at MBS, going unbeaten in the first three meetings. But with the Union still undefeated on the season, Atlanta will need to be at their best to extend that run.
The match kicks off at 2:30 p.m. ET.
