Atlanta United announced it has loaned midfielder Santiago Sosa to Racing Club in the Argentine Primera Division for the 2024 season.

The 24-year-old joined Atlanta United ahead of the 2021 season as a U-22 initiative signing. He has played in 64 MLS matches in his career, including 52 starts. Sosa has recorded one goal and one assist in his three seasons since joining Atlanta.

Also announced the club has signed Polish international midfielder Bartosz Slisz (pronounced Slish) through the 2028 MLS season. Slisz joins from Legia Warsaw of Poland’s first division and will occupy an international roster spot pending the receipt of his International Transfer Certificate (ITC) and P-1 Visa.

“Bartosz is an intelligent, defensive-minded midfielder who is capable of playing in different systems,” Vice President and Technical Director Carlos Bocanegra said. “We feel he will complement our team well and help us solidify the middle of the field. At 24 years old he is mature beyond his years and has already played more than 250 professional matches. We’re pleased to attract a talented player at this stage of his career who is breaking into his national team.”

The 24-year-old joins Atlanta after making 258 professional appearances in Europe with Polish clubs ROW 1964 Rybnik, Zaglebie Lubin and Legia Warsaw, winning two league titles, the Polish Cup and Polish Super Cup with Legia. The midfielder has recorded a combined 10 goals and 16 assists across all competitions in his career.

Prior to his move to MLS, Sosa had played his entire professional career with River Plate in Argentina. He joined the club’s Academy in 2008 before making his first team debut during the 2018-19 season in Copa Libertadores action.
