Hawks seek to continue win streak when team face Magic

On MLK Day the Hawks defeated the Spurs 109-99 marking Atlanta’s 22nd win (22-11 overall record, 20-9 clip at home).

Four Hawks players captured a double-double. Trae Young led the team with 36 PTS, 13 AST, making it his 10,000th career point with his made free throw at the 53.8 second mark of the third quarter. The 25 year old became the 10th-youngest player in NBA history to 10,000 points, passing Bob McAdoo.

Jalen Johnson added 16 PTS, 10 REB. Johnson became the first player in the NBA since Russell Westbrook (12/19/18) to finish a game with those stats and the first Hawk since Josh Smith (2/26/10) to do so.

Dejounte Murray collected 13 PTS, 13 REB, and Clint Capela rounded off the scoring efforts with his 16th double-double of the season with 13 points and 11 rebounds.

This is the fourth game this season four Hawks tallied a double-double, the first time since 1968-69 the Hawks have had four such games in a season (six games).

The Hawks will wrap up their five-game homestand on Wednesday, 1/17, against the Orlando Magic on the annual Pride night. Following Wednesday’s contest, Atlanta will play in a road/home back-to-back on Friday, 1/19 at Miami, before taking on Cleveland on Saturday, 1/20, inside the award-winning State Farm Arena
