ATLANTA (Jan. 5, 2024) – Thiago Almada, Edwin Mosquera and Caleb Wiley have received call-ups to their respective national teams for January training camps.
Almada and Mosquera have respectively joined Argentina and Colombia’s U-23 National Team training camps ahead of CONMEBOL’s 2024 Pre-Olympic Tournament, determining which U-23 teams from South America will qualify for the 2024 Olympic Games. The tournament will take place in Venezuela from Jan. 20-Feb. 11
Almada, 22, has four appearances with the Argentine National Team and was part of the squad that won the 2022 FIFA World Cup. He’s made eight appearances with the U-23s and scored two goals, captaining the side in his last five matches. The midfielder also represented Argentina at the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo where he made two appearances and had one assist.
Mosquera, 22, has two appearances for Colombia’s U-23 side, starting two friendlies against Peru’s U-23s in December of 2023.
Wiley has been called up to the United States Men’s National Team’s January Camp by manager Gregg Berhalter, which will take place in Orlando, Florida from Jan. 8-16before the team heads to San Antonio, Texas to open its 2024 schedule with a friendly against Slovenia on Jan. 20 at Toyota Field.
