In front of a officially sold out crowd the College Park Skyhawks (2-1) fell to the Capital City Go-Go (3-1), 111-105, on the first of a back-to-back on Opening Weekend Presented by Georgia Natural Gas’,Saturday night at Gateway Center Arena in College Park, Georgia.
Ahead of the matchup the Skyhawks defeated Raptors 905 in consecutive games on the road this past week. In Ontario, Canada the Skyhawks never trailed, and all 12 players that appeared for College Park on Tuesday scored. The 85 points allowed by the Skyhawks is the fewest in the team’s history. Two-way guard/forward Seth Lundy led the Skyhawks with 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, marking his first game reaching the 20-point mark and his first career double-double. Chris Silva finished with 18 points and seven rebounds. Forward MiKyle McIntosh tallied 12 points, 12 rebounds, and seven assists in 31 minutes off the bench.
In Saturday’s home opener Keaton Wallace led the Skyhawks in scoring, tying his season-high with 19 points on 6-13 shooting from the field (.461%), adding six rebounds and one assist in 31 minutes. Guard Tyson Etienne collected a season-high 18 points on 8-13 shooting (.615%), in addition to three rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block in 36 minutes, while Chris Silva finished with a near triple-double, notching 18 points on 5-8 shooting from the floor (.625%), 12 rebounds, a career-high nine assists, two blocks and one steal in 34 minutes.
