The Gladiators skated their way back to home ice to face the Icemen on Friday Nov 3. at Gas South Arena.
The Icemen wasted no time in establishing their lead. One minute and thirty one seconds into the contest, Chris Grando and Jacob Panetta fed Garrett Van Wyhe, for the opening tally of the game.
Roughly five minutes later, it was Glads Evan Dougherty netted his first professional goal(5:17) assisted by Reece Vitelli and Jacob Graves.
Atlanta took the lead midway through the first period after Micah Miller, recorded fifth goal of the season. (7:50).
The Icemen quickly fired back with Dominick Mersch, finding the back of the net.
At end of the 1st period the score was tied 2-2.
On a powerplay Carson Gicewicz scored for Atlanta to extend lead to 3-2 in the 2nd period, marking his fifth goal of the season.
In the closing minutes of the 2nd period Jacksonville Chukarov evened the score 3-3.
After a steady back and fourth and concerted effort in the offensive zone two goals was scored in the final period. Aidan De La Gorgendie sent the puck into the the back of the net to give the Glads his first professional goal of the season (12:15). Alex Whelan scored an empty-net goal to put the game away and seal the 5-3 win.
Next up: The Gladiators will return to home ice again on Sunday when the team face the Stingrays. Puck drops at 4:00 PM.
