Atlanta is currently riding a six-match unbeaten run and coming off a 3-1 win against D.C. United before the international break. With 35 goals, Atlanta has the second-highest scoring attack in MLS this season, trailing Columbus with 36. The club has scored a league-best 24 goals in the second half of matches.

In the end Atlanta United scored a goal during stoppage trailing by 2-1 Atlanta pushed for the match-leveling goal. Machop Chol received a pass out wide on the right and found the run of Brooks Lennon towards the end line. Lennon pushed the ball into the center of the penalty area where Nick Firmino stood at the six-yard box and headed the ball down, sending it into the net. It was Firmino’s first MLS goal and his ninth in 2023, as the Brazilian leads ATL UTD 2 with eight goals in MLS NEXT Pro play.

Maybe it wasn’t good as at times we didn’t look as good as cohesive which maybe is normal, but we were fighting, we were competing till the end we were pushing for 3 points. I like that, stats aside. 12 shots for us, three for them. We couldn’t manufacture more chances, but I still think kudos to the kids for the fight.
