Coming off a 130-122 win in Game 3 on Friday night. Atlanta and Boston will face-off  again in Game 4 of the First Round of the 2023 NBA Eastern Conference Playoffs on Sunday, April 23, at State Farm Arena.

The Hawks 130 point win scored in Game 3 marked the most points in a Hawks playoff contest since a 137-125 win over the Detroit Pistons in Game 2 of the First Round of the 1986 NBA Playoffs (4/19/1986).

 

The team’s bench mob combined for an impressive 44 points on .727 FG% (16-22), .800 3FG% (8-10) and 1.000 FT% (4-4), becoming the first bench unit to record at least 40 points on .700/.800/1.000 in a playoff game since starters/reserves first began being tracked in 1970-71.

Trae Young finished Game 3 with a game-high 32 points and nine assists, in addition to six rebounds, one steal and a playoff career- high two blocks in 37 minutes. Dejounte Murray collected 25 points, six rebounds, five assists and one steal in 37 minutes of play .The duo of became the first Hawks teammates since Lenny Wilkens and Bill Bridges in 1966 to register at least 25 points, five rebounds and five assists in the same playoff game, per ESPN Stats & Info (3/30/66).

In three games this postseason, Murray has netted at least 20 points, five rebounds and five assists in three straight playoff games, becoming the first Hawks player to do so since Pete Maravich in the 1973 NBA Playoffs . Murray is one of only two players in the 2023 NBA Playoffs averaging at least 25.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 5.0 assist and 2.5 steals (De’Aaron Fox).

Trae Young continues to make history, Friday April 21, Young netted his 600th career playoff point, while dishing out his 200th career playoff assist. In his 24th career playoff game, the Oklahoma product joins Oscar Robertson (21 games) as the only other player in NBA history to record over 600 points and 200 assists within their first 24 career playoff games . Young currently has 205 career playoff assists, the eighth-most dimes in Hawks playoff franchise history.

The Hawks improved to 11-2 at home in playoff games against Boston since the 1988 NBA Playoffs, including winners of five straight postseason contests over the Celtics in Atlanta.
